We would love to welcome you as a volunteer at the Greenstead
Community Centre! Volunteering is a great way to
get involved with your local community, meet new
friends and learn new skills.
There are many different ways in which you can get involved…here are
a few suggestions:
• Help with events or activities at the centre • Get involved with setting up bookings
• Overseeing wedding or party packages • Cooking or preparing food in the Kitchen • Taking orders and serving in the café • Covering the centre office • Assist with marketing and publicity
• Help to supervise the youth café
Tell us your interests and skills. Everyone has something to offer
and the more support we get, the more we can offer to our local
community.

What’s in it for me?
Volunteering at the centre will give you a chance to build your
skills and work experience with the potential for free training
(dependant on your role).
You might be retired and looking for something to
fill your day, you might want to give something back to your
community or you might want to volunteer before you feel ready to
return to a work environment after having children.
Whatever your reason, volunteering at the centre
is an ideal opportunity to become part of a fun and friendly team,
working to develop the community centre and provide the very best
facility to the local community.
"Volunteering in the Centre Café
has helped
me to get out and meet people locally after retiring, I have met so
many new friends and really enjoy getting out of the house."
Eileen - Greenstead Resident
& Volunteer
"I
felt lost and alone after giving up work to
raise my two stepchildren. Washing, ironing and
constant clearing up were just not doing it for
me - a domestic goddess I am not!! Then I
started to volunteer here - it's great! My house
may look like a rubbish dump, but at least I'm
happy when I pick up the kids and greet my
fiancé in the evenings with a smile!"

How do I get involved? Download a copy of our application form or pick up one from the
centre and return it to us telling us about how you would be
interested in helping out. Once we have received references we will
try to match your interests with a volunteer vacancy at the centre.
